Gibsons Residents Assembly: Canada’s First Finalized Assembly to Steer an Official Community Plan

This spring, the Town of Gibsons Residents Assembly broke new ground as Canada’s first residents’ assembly completed to inform the development of an Official Community Plan, as well as one of the smallest municipalities ever to host an assembly process. This assembly serves as a pivotal case study on the effectiveness of meaningful, 'upstreamed' engagement as an alternative to public hearings.
